Abstract:The virtual FLD testing is carried out by means of the non-linear FEM software: without using any instability hypotheses, the limit strains of the sheet metals, when the sheet metals begin instability during their forming, are resolved and the FLCs are fit with these strains through making up the virtual FLD testing facilities and specimens by using of digital modeling. The virtual FLCs are graphically alike to the FLCs fit with the limited strains detected by the true forming tests of the sheet metals, and the maximal strain errors(Δε1,Δε2) is only 4% between the two kinds of FLCs. Therefore, it'll be possible for the virtual FLD testing to replace the true FLD testing for engineering application, or partially.
