Abstract:For multi-attributes decision making problems with uncertain interval number, a new evaluation method for scheme selection based on possibility degree and information axiom was proposed. Firstly, for different type of the evaluation index, the maximum of the upper bound and the minimum of the lower bound of interval numbers were determined. Then the probability of success satisfying the functional requirement was calculated by identifying the system range and common range of each index, and the information content for each interval number and each scheme were also computed. Finally, the alternatives were ranking according with each alternative’s total information content, so the optimal scheme could be selected. For decision-maker, it is not necessary to normalize evaluation index. In the end, the scheme evaluation of plain chain conveyor was taken for an example to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
